Catherine Gleason
Catherine “Katie” Gleason joined Katz and Phillips, P.A. in 2012. She graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in Criminology in 1999. She received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University, Sheppard Broad Law Center in 2003 and has been practicing law in Gainesville, FL throughout her legal career.
Ms. Gleason has worked in the private criminal defense sector since returning to Gainesville. She has represented clients in criminal matters ranging from criminal traffic infractions to attempted first degree murder. She represents clients at both the State and Federal level.
Ms. Gleason has extensive trial experience, having successfully tried by jury a wide variety of cases from simple misdemeanors to life felonies.
Ms. Gleason takes special pride in her past work with the Innocence Project assisting individuals with post conviction relief. Upon the discovery of new evidence the Innocence Project has assisted individuals obtain new trials and overturn convictions.
Ms. Gleason is admitted to practice throughout the State of Florida as well as in the United States District Court, Northern District of Florida and the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida.
She is a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Ms. Gleason currently has cases in all of North Central Florida, including, but not limited to, Alachua, Gilchrist, Levy, Baker, Bradford and Union Counties.
In her free time Ms. Gleason enjoys spending time with her two precious children.
